Job Title: Technical Writer

Location: Dallas TX

Duration: Contract to Hire.

The Technical Writer will be responsible for creation and maintenance of in-depth, complex IT documentation and creation/maintenance of detailed Visio diagrams. This position will translate technical and/or complicated information into clear, concise documents appropriate for various target audiences. This role will work with highly technical individuals who are responsible for all aspects of service delivery of the Relationship Advance ASP product.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for creation and maintenance of IT documentation (Service Management, Project Management and Compliance)
Translates technical and/or complicated information into clear, concise documents appropriate for various target audiences
Works with Development, Quality Assurance and Technical Support to produce a wide variety of technical publications including process documentation, instructional and technical manuals, product documentation and the like for use by both the IT and business community
Interviews subject matter experts and technical staff to collect information, prepare written text, and coordinate layout and material organization
Researches information such as drawings, design reports, equipment and test specification to fill any gaps
Reviews, critiques, and edits documentation including design documents, programmer notes and system overviews
Responsibilities include maintenance of internal documentation library, providing and/or coordinating special documentation services as required, and oversight of special projects
Works on multiple varied and complex document management projects concurrently that require increased skill in multiple technical environments and knowledge in a specific business area
May assist in preparing presentation materials for meetings; prepare and distribute minutes

Required Skills & Experience:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Communication or a related field.
Requires knowledge of similar product lines or ASP offerings and document structure
5-7 years of business or technical writing experience
5+ years' experience with MS Office and Visio
2+ years' customer-service experience (service-industry or non-technical field acceptable.)
3+ years of experience using standard technical writing tools, including and in depth Microsoft Visio
3+ years of experience with collaboration tools, such as wikis, blogs, and Microsoft SharePoint
Superior documentation, communication and interpersonal skills
Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially PowerPoint
Experience using Adobe Creative Suite products

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to make effective decisions under pressure
Ability to efficiently prioritize and organize competing work demands with little oversight

Oracle DBA - Des Moines IA (3rd Shift) - 18 Months

American Unit Inc is seeking a prospective applicant for “Oracle DBA” position this is initially a 18 months contract opportunity and this assignment is based out at Des Moines, IA with one of our major client.

Job Title:         Oracle DBA
Location:         Des Moines IA
Duration:         18 Months.
Working Hours:         3rd Shift.. 10pm to 8am.
                                           (Weekends required once in every 6-8 weeks)

Job Description:

Develop and maintain scripts and programs for data exchanges and interfaces with external systems
Coordinate format requirements for data interfaces with mission critical systems
Technical POC for interface requirement issues; Provide general Oracle database technical and administrative support; Provide monthly status to the Technical POC;
Provide metric reporting to client management
Ability to perform any/all task within ORACLE/DBA lifecycle (design, development, unit/class testing, maintenance, documentation).
Ability to function as part of a development team to include the use of a version control system.
Strong capability and ability to resolve highly technical and complex database and infrastructure related issues on their own before they impact production and business.
Provides technical expertise to the development of solutions for such items as DBMS tools and utilities usage, database administration, backup and recovery, database performance tuning and monitoring.
Performs database migrations, upgrades and structure migrations.
Ability to influence development organizations to comply with database best practices and database standards and practices.
Runs transaction access path analysis sessions with application developers, analyzing specifications and code to ensure that data access and database designs are as efficient as possible. Make recommendations for improvements in these areas, if necessary.
Fully utilizes CASE tools to develop, or modify, physical database designs from logical designs, using the logical design, discussion with the Data Analyst, application development reviews, and documented results from transaction access path analysis sessions as input.
Assures quality of database analysis and design across projects, thus enabling company-wide data reusability.
Trouble-shoots database and/or software problems as they apply to design, implementation, or installation activities.
Schedules and coordinates database maintenance activities including such items as database reorganizations and restructures.
Coordinates and/or participates in database stress tests, analyzes results, and makes recommendations for design or coding changes based upon those results.
Participates in off-hour production problem resolution activities.
Researches, evaluates, and tests new software and DBMS related tools and facilities as they pertain to the existing DBMS environment, database designs, procedures, and applications.
Monitors current DBMS performance and develops procedures, where necessary, to improve the DBMS environment as required.
Identifies and supports quality improvement initiatives.
Performs other assignments to comply with the IT corporate purpose and mission to add business value, increase revenue, decrease costs, improve productivity, and support the strategic initiative/directive.
Complies with all security and audit standards. Ensures security of company information by ensuring database is secure and monitors environment to identify improper access.

Experience:

5+ years of experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities include:
- Highly skilled in Oracle database and SQL statement tuning with detailed understating of Oracle s performance reports AWR and Stats-Pack PL/SQL performance tuning.
Ability to provide professional level technical documentation and presentation for the tuning recommendations.
Working knowledge of MSSQL Server databases, SSRS and SSIS is a big Plus.
Hands on experience working on Oracle 9i, 10g and 10g RAC database applications, Oracle s ASM,TDE, OEM Grid control, RMAN
Good UNIX Sun Solaris, Linux knowledge and shell scripting is a plus.
Basic understanding of Connection pooling and middleware software like JBoss, JRun, Tom Cat, IBM Web sphere is desired.
Hands on Experience of implementing Oracle 9i and 10G database on UNIX and Linux platform is a must.
Ability to create and maintain positive and professional business relationships with both internal associates and external customers and work effectively in a team environment
Proficient at time and priority management.

Qualifications:

Experience with Windows XP
Working, and practical, knowledge of Oracle Database administration functions, database structures and design
Vista workstations – OS installation, update, and patch software
Troubleshooting various Windows-based applications; must have strong communication skills. fast learner
Must be willing to work 3rd shift and some weekends.

Quality Analyst / Tester @ Fort Worth TX

Looking for someone who is experienced as a Manual Tester as well as with QTP.
Must have AX Dynamics 2012 testing experience. 1 month would be fine.
They will be doing white box, black box, gray box testing and should be experienced with all 3
They MUST have Agile experience.
Must have excellent documentation of test cases.
Knowledge and experience testing .NET, Java, C# and SQL
Must have excellent time management skills
Sought Skills/Experiences:
Client is asking that the QA tester have AX 2012 experience even if it is just for 1-3 months.

· They also need to have 3-5 years of regression testing.
